Mr. Meyer has been a public policy advocate and communications professional since 1985. From 1988 to 1991, he was the National Field Coordinator for the UCS security program, and later served as a lobbyist/field organizer for the Professionals’ Coalition for Nuclear Arms Control. Subsequently, he served in senior marketing and communications positions for a marketing and advertising firm, and ran his own communications firm—Sean Meyer Communications—from 2003 to 2007. He rejoined UCS in 2007, where he oversees UCS engagement and education of the scientific community and the general public on security and nuclear power safety issues. The Vienna Conference on Nuclear Weapons

I recently returned from the Vienna Conference on the Humanitarian Impact of Nuclear Weapons (HINW14), the third such conference since March 2013 spearheaded by a number of international civil society organizations and non-nuclear weapons states. These states are growing increasingly impatient with the nuclear weapons states in their lack of progress toward global disarmament—as they pledged to do in Article VI of the 1968 Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).  Read more >
